ok first of all this was so much fun to readddd thank u for having such huge brain takes<3 and we've talked abt this before but i do rly wish edelgard's route had more substance... though i do think it's interesting re:shipping bc (take this with a grain of salt bc i've only read edeleth fic not dimileth) i feel like edeleth has more substance as a pairing??? like the ~revolutionary~ partners of it all but mainly bc u need to make an Active Choice to go with edelgard which really does a lot for characterizing byleth i think.
and agree re: genderlocked classes [everyone boos] also i'm glad they made linhardt ""bi"" at least but imo he should just be straight up gay. like if you pick f!byleth you're locked out of his route. that's linhardt!!!!! also the Divinity Original Sin 2 plug lol i see you.
and LMAOOOOOOOOOO at ferdibert being ur favorite ship. ok i know u didnt say that u DID list them first :rofl: but i cant judge i have my fair share of their fics in my ao3 bookmarks.... and i honestly do think ferdie is a rly good character i enjoy his #growth a lot. and i'm going to be normal and not write an entire dimilix essay again (already has a whole dumbass annotated playlist) but i just think u are So Right and "Dimitri is the necessary entity to make him feel like everything that happened was worth it." knocked me flat fr.
ok one more thing "Something about me is that i am only recently starting to enjoy morally grey characters." LETS GOOOO!!! we love to see it. also i don't even think dimitri is that morally grey like compared to edelgard but i guess he does "murder" "women".... (he's also kind of a centrist but we can fix him.) i love u saying that he cares so much he is tearing his out heart out because its sooo true and also so reminiscent of felix which is like T__T it really shows how insane and serious they are as a pairing. honestly i'm glad u r dimitri apologist i think it's brave and I Agree. like yes hes not "ending the entire racism" etc but that's rly not what his route is supposed to be about? have u seen the jamie lee curtis trauma meme video because it's that. let me send it to u.
