Asdfadfa neeta showed me this song after we spent some time shitting on (redacted) and Priya Ragu’s voice is SO GORGEOUS like she really has classical training and can sing unlike (redacted).

 

False Positive, Clarence Clarity

Omg i missed Clarence tbhi really think he is the only producer who shld be allowed to touch rina’s tracks and No NOW was such a good album. Of his most recent ep this one is my fav and probably bc it sounds the most like a No NOW track heh. Glitchy and fun!

 

SHALLOW (PPL SWIM IN SHALLOW WATER), Saya Gray

SOMETHING’S IN THE WEED, MY FRIEND, I’M SEEING MOTHER MARY! This is the only saya gray song to exist...yet...but wow the way she modulates her voice is so interesting to listen to and this is just a lucky find...i hope she produces more music soon <3

 

Darkness, Katie Dey

I like this song for how fun the lyrics are. I kind of get it. I kind of get it, i want to be the darkness, too...also i feel like string instruments in the background of songs are always a plus...

 

Simulation Swarm, Big Thief

My brain isn’t big enough to process this song but every time Adrianne sings “I’d fly to you tomorrow, I’m not fighting in this war” I go absolutely mental.

 

BBM (Bad Bitch Mentality), Charmaine

This song kept my mood up during interviews lol i would interview and then immediately after go on a walk while blasting this song. God!!!!!!!! Charmaine gets it.

 

Solid Liquid Gas, Eartheater

I love how her voice sounds like...a choir or a distant fantastical voice. It’s really easy to get absorbed by this song.

 

生きる, Tokyo Incidents

My friend showed this to me after I showed him The Killing Kind by Mariana’s Trench (which julia showed to me. The cycle of life continues.) and I DIDNT KNOW SHEENA RINGO had a BAND? Her voice in this is nuts like! My friend said that “some people may find it grating but it just makes me want to cry” and he is right...

 

In terms of albums, OFC i’ve been listening to laurel hell a lot. Should’ve Been Me is another favorite find but There’s Nothing Left For You also makes me want to cry. I need to do a deep listen where I read the lyrics at the same time because after listening to it once/twice I kind of had to take a break for interview stuff sigh. But I am having a much more intimate experience with Laurel Hell than I did with Be the Cowboy and I think it’s because i’ve matured enough to truly enjoy a mitski song lol. I’m so excited for the concert i hope she plays townie <3 unfortch i’ve heard there’s been a bunch of annoying freaks attending mitski concerts so i hope seattle fares better...

 

I was also thinking about how for most of my life i judged songs solely based on their musicality rather than their lyrics and now it’s starting to shift where lyrics are taking more of a hold, which is good because i suppose it’s more accurate to help u appreciate the Inner Workings of the song itself.

 

There were actually so many songs I found in Feb but too many to really list here (again if u even listen to just ONE of these songs. Ur nuts). Maybe they’ll show up again at a later point!

Linda Linda Linda (2005)

This is such an ideal high school era coming of age movie to me. Like besides the random old dude having dated a high schooler...but ugh i love the classic “hey crap we got to make a band for a SCHOOL FESTIVAL” and exhausting late night band sessions.... like i think as far as highschool movies go it is more relatable than anything i’ve seen in western media. Lol me and neeta talking about how western high school flicks dont hit the same because they keep trying to make high schoolers seem more grown up/intense than is actually relevant...also Shione Yukawa who played Moe Imamura has a really nice voice, I’ve been randomly listening to her music adfadf. Another appeal of high school movies is like. For a moment u can suspend all disbelief and u and ur classmates are all Allies if Not Friends for just a moment and that’s why graduation scenes/school festival performances/etc get to me because it is just so easy to Forget and Idealize life and other ppl. And then ur back to reality and half of your classmates are cryptobros or worse i mean what...

 

Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga (2019)

Now why are bollywood movies so bad asdkjflasdf they are Entertaining at least but oh my god. Reasons this movie was bad:

Sonam kapoor (cannot act and also just incredibly bland)

The main protag was the straight guy like u barely got to see the lesbian interactions....what was the point!

Some things were way too cringe and over the top lol (the father divorcee romance subplot god)

All the songs were sooo sooo bad so so bad omfg there was not even ONE banger

Idk why im complaining so much when i knew it was gonna be like this but Anyways this is why I dont rly watch bollywood films but i do kinda wanna watch the classics like kkkg but then i realize kkkg is 3 HOURS 30 MINUTES LONG and its like oh yeah that’s also why I don’t watch indian movies.

 

John Wick (2014)

watched this with niki and kevin while absolutely blasted off my ass. This is a pretty standard action flick lol incredibly ridiculous but a fun watch (i say this but i also don’t remember anything that happened in it). Will be watching the next ones to prepare for RINA SAWAYAMA IN JOHN WICK 4!

 

The Tinder Swindler (2022)

Bimbos movie nite watch. Not rly much to say here besides like wow i can’t believe they didn’t get this guy yet.

 

I kind of stopped watching A Starstruck Odyssey sorry brennan lee mulligan...maybe i will jump back into it. I was also thinking of watching succession soon but i need to like...really list out all the activities i wanna do and when i plan to do them.

 

Oh i also watched like three episodes of love is blind season 2 asdfafd me a sucker for reality tv of course...this season is not as good so far like the shane/shaina/salvador bit is just barnett/jessica/mark v2 but not as entertaining sigh. Natalie u deserve SO much better than shane i hope she gets out of there omfg. Going to watch a few more eps this weekend with niki and kevin...probably.

Bloodchild and Other Stories, Octavia E. Butler

Finally read the book i said i was gonna read <3 overall enjoyed this but i realize as i read more and more short story anthologies that i don’t like short stories as much as i thought i did LOL esp for sci fi/other elements that require more Time just to dive into the story properly. My fav story was Speech Sounds because even amidst all the chaos and conflict there is a shred of optimism and I respect that in scifi stories...I find scifi needs more uplifting narratives.

 

Maus I + Maus II, Art Spiegelman

Finally read this as it has unfortunately become topical again for unfortunate reasons. Absolutely horrible how this is being pulled out of schools hhh but i thought it was a great read overall and incredibly touching. Horribly sad that people have to endure so much in their lives and even then live thru such invalidating experiences day after day!

 

games

well for one, i finished my beagles playthrough!!! Overall enjoyed it a lot but it was def not as refined as blue lions run (like when it came time for dimitri to d*e i didn’t get a cutscene i wonder if because i didn’t kill him w/ byleth/edelgard but neither of them could fucken hit him so i just made lysithea one shot him asdlkfjasdlfk) (i also feel like beagles dimitri is not unhinged enough. Like he literally seems fairly normal and it’s less clear the role he poses/ how he functions as a nuisance/he is less compelling of a villain this run than edelgard was in blions and i guess that makes sense cuz rhea is the ultimate villain of beagles but whatever). Anyways hwo else is excited for fire emblem three hopes?? U all know dimitri pony made me go batshit insane.

 

Me + bimbos pc gamers finished playing halo 3 which i did not like at all it made me so motion sick and the shooting/guns were not satisfying. I could not tell guns apart. The only good part of it was the driving i guess but there was not enough of that besides the final sequence.

 

Me and kevin played Nobody Saves the World which is sosos fun actually...the gameplay is a pretty standard rpg dungeon crawling game but the game mechanic with shifting Forms and switching out and mixing and matching abilities is interesting and makes for versatile gameplay. I was very addicted to this game in the 17 hours it took us to finish like every day i would be like KEVIN ARE U DONE WITH WORK CAN WE PLAY NOW!

 

Me and Kevin also played It Takes Two ten years late. It seems like the xbox store was having dumb issues connecting to ea app or whatever which is why i didnt think it was even possible to play at first but now we are here! Though i find the characters extremely offputting the gameplay is very fun, the movement smooth as hell and they really incorporated EVERYTHING in this game. Like there is such a variety of minigames/gameplay mechanics/environments/etc that you never get bored and it keeps you on your toes. This one section did make me SOOOO motion sick i thought i was gonna puke but luckily no one gameplay style is in use for too long. Also Cutie the Elephant...if you know you know but.....;_;

 

Now bimboz pc gamers are onto playing Borderlands 2 (which will be my third or fourth time playing wahoo). Tbh i think the maya build was the most fun for me...im playing salvador rn and it’s just not hitting the same <3 i am glad to see my favs again like i really did miss lilith so much...

 

I’m also trying to finish up Ace Attorney, I finally finished Chapter 4 Edgey’s backstory <3 all i can say is....HUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Other

i’m drawing again and it’s so so hard i really had to relearn everything but it’s fine because soon i will make a habit of it and art will be refreshing and fun to me. been listening to the white vault while i draw and it's def not the best horror podcast like the voice acting is questionable but ah well...im a sucker for the genre

 

Wow there is really nothing else for me to put in this section. I wanna get an overnight/duffel bag type thing that isn’t too bulky or big so if anyone has any recs let me know lol.

 

Conclusion

Sorry i swear this is less coherent than last month um.

 

Yeah my life is getting better and i am happier and grateful (though often find that to be on shaky ground lol). Spring is coming up (and so is my birthday :3c) and there really isn’t much else i can ask for...hope everyone has a good march!! Take care!!
